DHS
Class of 1956 Memorial Fund Support Program II. Purpose
Acknowledge classmate and surviving spouse or companion who is
seriously ill or has passed away.
A. Death
a.
Offer
assistance to the family in the planning and execution of a Memorial
Service (If Requested).
b.
Send
floral arrangement with DHS Class of 1956 ribbon if appropriate to
funeral or memorial service,
c.
Accommodate surviving family’s requests for memorabilia available
for loan for memorial service.
B. Illness
a.
Appropriate cards shall be sent to hospitalized or convalescing
classmates, spouses, or companions.
b.
Classmates may be visited if hospitalized or convalescing if
feasible within the Greater Portland area. III. Donations
A.
Funds
a.
Contributions shall be voluntary. Amount shall be at the
donor’s discretion. IV. Budget Guidelines (based
upon available funds)
A.
Funeral, Celebration of Life, Memorial Services
a.
Expense for floral arrangements, with DHS Class of 1956 ribbon if
appropriate, shall not exceed $100. B.
Illness, Hospitalization, Convalescence
a.
Expense for cards or expressions of caring shall be at the
discretion of the Memorial Fund Coordinator.
