NORTH YARMOUTH Maine -
Robert Merle Conlogue passed away peacefully, yet unexpectedly at his daughter's home in North Yarmouth on Monday, April 23, 2007.

Bob was born on Nov. 15, 1936, in Portland. He was the son of the late Merle Harding Conlogue and Sarah Bridges Conlogue of Portland, Maine. He graduated from Deering High School, class of 1956. He was captain of the football team and was voted M.V.P. of the Thanksgiving Turkey Day football game one year. He helped to organize and celebrate the 50th Deering High School class reunion last year.

Bob attended Portland Junior College and then enlisted in the Air Force in communications. He spent two of his four years overseas in Okinawa, Japan. After completing his service, he went to work in the banking industry for Maine National Bank and Casco Bank. He recently retired from the Maine Turnpike Authority. Bob had an incredible work ethic. He always had many jobs. He worked in a variety of opportunities, many of which involved taking care of others.

Bob married Fay Weller in 1959 and had four beautiful children who were the loves of his life. He was a devoted father. He later remarried Geraldine Elliot for five years. Bob's soul mate and life partner for the past 17 years was Rosemary Holleman of Gorham. Rosemary and Bob were each other's best friends maintaining a very active life and traveling extensively. Bob was like a father to her two children Cynthia (Holleman) Leary of Lisbon, and Bryan Scott Holleman of Virginia. His greatest joys in his life were his children, family and many, many friends. Bob had a wide variety of interests. He enjoyed photography, playing guitar, motorcycle touring, skiing with family, biking and snowmobiling.

Bob will be missed tremendously. He was a gift to everyone who knew him. Bob was a man of such genuine integrity. He always saw the positive in any situation. He was a kind, generous, compassionate man who was always reaching out to others. His spirit will live in our hearts forever.

Bob was predeceased by both parents and his oldest brother, James Harding Conlogue of North Carolina. He is survived by his life partner, Rosemary Holleman of Gorham; his sister Alice Ann (Conlogue) Gray and her husband William of Gorham; brother Everett Conlogue and his wife Norma of Windham, and brother Fred Conlogue and his wife Sandy of South Portland. The family would like to thank Dr. Chris Wellins for his loving care over many years.  Donations in Bob's memory may be made to Turning Point, Cardiac Rehabilitation at Maine Medical Center.
